Attitude of Gratitude
I love that we have a holiday recognizing the importance of being thankful. If you really want to change your circumstance develop an attitude of gratitude. When those all too ugly roots of bitterness, envy, regret and disappointment knock at the door to take up residence in your thoughts shut the door firmly and many times if you must. These can be rude persistent visitors. Keep a journal/blog and even on your worst day be sure to write down something even if it is just one thing that you are grateful for. Psalm 50: 23 The one who offers thanksgiving as His sacrifice glories me; to one who orders His way rightly I will show the salvation of God! Dwell on that something send it to the door to screen your “visitors”. Psalm 18:28 for it is you who light my lamp; the Lord my God lightens my darkness. Just as darkness cannot exist in the light, Genesis 1:34 And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. Gratitude sheds light into some of our darkest feelings chasing them like shadows into the corners and out of the rooms of our thoughts. On good days fill up the page or pages!!!!!! Feel the joy that yes, this is your life!
Psalm 100:1-4 Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into His presence with singing! Know that the Lord, He is God! It is He who made us, and we are His, we are His people and the sheep of His pasture. Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise! Give thanks to Him, bless His name!
Joy for today: My daughter shared with me something she had read about explaining love to children. In a garden you see flowers you like and you pick them but when you find a flower you love you want to nurture it, water it and grow it. Today I learned something new from and about my daughter. I was incredibly touched.
